On its eleventh edition, BIOMED is the main International Fair within the biomedical sector and it represents an excellent opportunity to present the existing situation and above all the increasing potential of scientific and industrial collaboration between Italy and Israel in the field.
“Mini symposium on Nanomedicine: The science and translation of drug delivery” took place in Tel Aviv at the Dan Panorama Hotel, on May 22nd 2012, in the framework of the Italian Israeli bilateral agreement on scientific, technological and industrial cooperation. The conference focused on nanotechnologies and its application on drug delivery. The principal aim of the Symposium was to present examples of the innovative excellence and the ongoing bilateral cooperation in this sector, recalling the attention of Italian and Israeli Companies and Institutions this field. The first session saw the intervention of Prof. Ruggero Bettini, of the Department of Pharmacy, Parma University, followed by Dr. Maria Rita Luparini, Senior Manager Business Development Pharmaceutical Division of Angelini Group. The conference panels saw the participation to the various debate of Prof. Fabio Beltram, Director “Scuola Normale of Pisa”, Prof. Paolo Caliceti of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Padova University and of Prof. Smadar Cohen of Department of Biotechnology Engineering, Ben Gurion University
