Exporting a culture is a hard work, but when we think about the gastronomic delicacies as a subject of promotion, nothing seems to be more internationally recognized as best-in-class than the Italian cuisine.
By the years culinary science and typical dishes played an essential part in the promotion of the Italian heritage through the world. This expansion of gastronomic knowledge is nowadays represented by the most awarded Italian restaurants, which every year attract lots of foreign tourist in Italy. These excellences are also findable outside the Italian territory; as all the restaurants located in the most important cities on Earth that offer typical dishes and cuisine from all Italian regions.
Every Year the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs rewards the most genuine restaurants in the world, those ones that offer an authentic experience of the “Italian Hospitality”. It’s possible to find a good number of restaurants in Tel Aviv, such as “Osteria Da Fiorella” established on Ben Yehuda twenty-five years ago, is specialized in the Jewish-Roman cuisine. This and other 9 “ambassadors” of the Italian taste were honored with a certificate “Ospitalita’ Italiana” attesting their own quality and their hospitality attitude. A jury, composed by renowned chefs, experts in agricultural product and tours operators, chooses the restaurants by the ingredients and product they use, the wine list and also by the chefs and personnel skills and competences. “It seems to be a hard decision…” this is what seed Francesco Maria Talo’, the Italian Ambassador in Tel Avi, but he continued sharing at the press what it really takes to find original values: “…I think that the first secret is try to be yourself, but in the same time try to find what is authenticity. And then simplicity.”
The event toke place at the Farm Market in the Port of Tel Aviv on December the 18th 2013 night and was promoted by the Israel Italy chamber of Commerce and industry, the Italian Chamber of Commerce Union (UNIONCAMERE) and of course by the Minister of Foreign Affairs. As a meeting and conference occasion it was also an opportunity of networking between tours operator, hoteliers and others operating in the tourism industry from both countries. Recently the Israeli tourism in Italy is increasing and this could be a great opportunity for Italian typical touristic region and finest foods and cuisine could be considered as an added value at their attractive beauties.
The Italian Hospitality is well known in every place on Earth, in every city you could find a pizzeria or a spaghetti house, but talking about quality and originality, only few of them could be considered authentic Italian restaurants. The “Ospitalita’ Italiana” certificate is an end user guarantee certifying the real Italian quality standards of a restaurant.
Also with the recent increasing of the Italian sounding phenomenon, that involves fake Italian producs, this document ensures the clients that the restaurant uses only products with a well known provenience.
